(Makes 12-16 Crepes)
So, the story behind the name, "Fiance` French Crepes"!... Before my husband and I were married a few years ago, him and his parents invited me along on a family vacation to Europe! Yes, to Europe! We stayed in theatrical German homes, luxurious parisian hotels, skied down the steep white mountains of the Netherlands, and ate some unforgettable Brochen (German Bread)!
While in Germany visiting family, my husband took me to a extravagantly luscious German restaurant, and while I was intriguingly embracing a German menu, he placed a diamond ring on the table and asked me to marry him! Oh, my! It was so wonderful! Still feels like a dream, even now while I am typing the story to you! It is amazing how much better food taste when you are engaged to the one you love!!=)
The next morning Bill (my husband), his parents, and his brother surprised me with a weekend getaway to Paris! Where my future brother-in-law had already planned on taking our engagement pictures underneath the Eiffel Tower! After the pictures were finished, we walked the shopping streets of Paris, and found a crepe stand making fresh crepes! This was my first time trying a crepe! In Paris! The taste was like none other!
After being married for over two years, my husband and I have committed to living a healthy lifestyle! While the crepes on the streets of Paris were memorable and yet delicious, today we choose not to eat most of what was in the ingredients of traditional Parisian Crepes. ;-) So, now we have found a recipe for RAW Crepes that surpasses every expectation I ever had for crepes! I saw the dazzling lights of Paris flash back in my mind when I bit into my RAW Fiance` French Crepes, and I think this recipe will do the same for you!
-1 medium zucchini, peeled and chopped
-1 medium mango, peeled, seeded, and chopped
-1 tablespoon agave nectar
-1 teaspoon lemon juice
-1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
-1/4 cup ground flax seed (or Chia seeds)
-1 small mint leaf (or whatever little bit of green you have in the fridge)
-1 Excalibur Dehydrator
MAKE IT PRETTY!
-1 1/2 cups of strawberries, hulled and chopped
-1 recipe of RAW Creamy Chocolate Condolences (located under the basics tab)
-Combine all of the ingredients (except the flax seed) into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth! After batter is creamy, add flax seed to mixture and blend again!
-Spoon a generous spoon full of batter onto your dehydrator tray! Make sure you place the Paraflexx Non-stick drying sheets onto your tray before you start! You do not want a mess! A clean kitchen while cooking results in happy tasting food! Use a spatula and spread each crepe into a very thin circle! As thin as you can get the batter with the whole circle being covered evenly!
-Once all of your crepes are spooned, place then in your dehydrator for 8-10 hours on 105 degrees F!
-Roll about 2 spoon full's of strawberries on top of each crepe! With the bumpy side of the crepe upward!
-Roll up rather tightly and then generously drizzle with the RAW Creamy Chocolate Condolences and top with a little slice of strawberry and a dash of something green!!!!
Oh, and I must throw in this fun fact! Crepes originated in Brittany, France!!! That is where my name originated from, also!
