Date Nut Balls (Vegan, GF)

Guys, this is literally the best vegan, gluten free, easy, healthy, party friendly, pick up and go desert out there!  You can't convince me otherwise. My 93 year old grandmother has made the original, non-vegan version my whole life, every year for Christmas. They were always my favorite, and I knew that the majority of ball was Dates, so making these vegan was no problemo! Naturally sweetened, fun to make, full of good fats, full of potassium, only 4 ingredients AND TASTE SO GOOD! Although they are perfect for the Christmas family get togethers, they can be made year round! Leave them original or you can cover them in dark chocolate, and coconut. :)

Makes 20-25 Date Nut Balls


12-14 whole medjool dates (You can buy these at Walmart now!)

1/4 cup of coconut oil

3 Cups of Organic Brown Rice Cereal

1 cup of chopped pecans



1. In a sause pan on low heat, warm up your coconut oil and dates. (This is just so the dates will be sticker and easier to squeeze into balls, don't get crazy with the heat.) 

2. While the coconut oil and dates warm up, put your brown rice cereal and chopped pecans into a large mixing bowl. 

3. Add everything into the mixing bowl when the dates become soft and sticky.

4. Mix and squeeze the mixture with your hand until it gets to the point where you can squeeze together a ball and it stays tight and together. 

5. Ball those babies up and serve!
